Todd comes from a Scots-Irish, English and Spanish background, born in Toms River, New Jersey and moved with his parents in 1987 at the age of fourteen to Lynnwood, Washington and graduated from Edmonds Woodway High school in 1992. Since he was ten, Todd has worn kilts, and now with the utilikilts style kilts, he wears them all the time and hasn’t looked back.
He originally was just used to writing as a hobby, after an experienced with being laid off from the museum he worked at and heading back to college to learn a new education, and to get trained in a new field. He completed a certificate in Family Counseling and decided to stay at the college and work on a new associate, so Todd took some writing classes, and one included a journalism class. He had the opportunity to apply for a job on the school newspaper and he took it and became the editor-in-chief while he was working on his associates. This job lead to the decision that writing would become the career and that History now was the hobby. He was able to get a job with a local newspaper where he started off as the A&E editor and luck had it he became the Editor-in-Chief of that newspaper. When CWU created the Creative & Professional Writing Degree this was an opportunity that he could pass up.
Todd aspires to pursue a career in teaching creative writing at a junior college and to continue writing his books, which 12 have been published to date. When he is not busy reading or writing in all forms of genres, he enjoys fencing and kendo, along with attending Science Fiction Convention, Comic book Conventions Highland Games and Renaissance Faires. He also is trained in Tae Kwon Do and IAI, along that he does collect swords and other medieval weapons, and also collects action figures (such as G.I. JOES, Star Wars, MASK and others). Todd also volunteers his Tuesday morning to working at the local food bank serving the needed community.
