Charter of the Real Men Wear Kilts – Seattle Branch
Preamble
We, the members of the Seattle Branch of Real Men Wear Kilts, do establish this charter to uphold and celebrate the legacy, pride, and community of kilt-wearing individuals in the Pacific Northwest. Rooted in camaraderie, cultural appreciation, and bold expression, we strive to create a space where heritage meets modern brotherhood.
Article I – Mission
The mission of the Seattle Branch is to promote the wearing of kilts as a symbol of pride, individuality, and tradition; to foster a sense of fellowship among members; and to actively participate in events that celebrate Celtic culture, community, and positive masculinity.
Article II – Membership
Membership is open to all who wear the kilt with respect and pride. We welcome individuals of all backgrounds, identities, and levels of kilt-wearing experience. Our members uphold the values of honor, respect, inclusion, and authenticity.
Article III – Activities and Events
We actively participate in cultural festivals, parades, Highland Games, Renaissance Faires, and community celebrations, including but not limited to the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, Northwest Folklife, and The Tartan Ball. We represent the kilted community with dignity, good humor, and visible pride.
Article IV – Code of Conduct
Members of the Seattle Branch are expected to represent the group with respect, courtesy, and dignity at all times. We promote a culture of inclusivity, discourage discrimination or harassment of any kind, and support one another in both public appearances and private fellowship.
Article V – Leadership and Structure
The Seattle Branch shall be led by a Branch Clan Chief, supported by a Council or Officers as needed. Leadership is responsible for organizing events, representing the Branch, and upholding the integrity of our mission and vision.
Article VI – Identity and Spirit
We are more than a social group — we are a living expression of heritage, style, and solidarity. We wear our kilts not just to honor the past, but to shape a bolder, more authentic future. We stand proudly, walk confidently, and gather joyfully — because Real Men Wear Kilts.
